Open a Browser and in the Address box type www.routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1.
The Login window will prompt for the routers username and password. The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password”.
Click the wireless Settings under setup. Setup a Name(SSID) for the wireless Network. Do not change the channel and mode until you are experiencing problem with wireless connection.
Under Security Options Select WEP.
Select the authentication type as automatic and select the encryption strength.
If you select the encryption to 64bit then generated key length is 10 characters, and for 128bit its 26 characters.
Under passphrase type in a word and click Generate. The router will generate 4 different keys for you. Key 1 will you wep password. Click Apply to save the Changes.
If you wants to make you own password then clear everything from the key 1 box and type in your own wep key. For 64-bit WEP - Enter ten hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, A-F). For 128-bit WEP - Enter twenty-six hexadecimal digits (any combination of 0-9, A-F).

Access Router GUI - Netgear
Connect a Ethernet cable from the broadband modem to the netgear router and another ethernet cable from the netgear router to a computer.
Note : If you are a laptop user then connect a laptop with a ethernet cable to access the GUI. If your computer is already connected to the wireless Network then you can access the GUI with out connecting a Ethernet cable.

Before proceeding with the setup. call your internet service provider and get the pppoe username and password.
Turn off the Modem, Router and computer. Connect a Ethernet cable from the broadband modem to the netgear router and another ethernet cable from the netgear router to a computer.
Note : If you are not using a desktop then connect a laptop with a ethernet cable for the setup.
Turn on the modem first and wait till the lights are stable. Then turn on the router and computer. If your connection is dynamic usually just a power cycle will get the internet connection back.
If still the computer is not connect to the internet then follow the next step.

Click the wireless icon in the system tray.
Select the Network that you want to connect click Connect. If you want to save the settings in the computer then check connect automatically.
Secured wireless connection prompts for the security key. Enter the Network Security Key and Click OK.
Select the Network location and click Close
Note : If you are connecting to a trusted network select the location as Home Network. If your are connecting the computer to a unsecured network or you are not instructed in sharing your computer with other computers on the network select Public.
Select the Network that you want to connect click Connect. If you want to save the settings in the computer then check connect automatically.
