Turn off the Modem, Router and computer.  Connect a Ethernet cable from the broadband modem to the netgear router and another ethernet cable from the netgear router to a computer.

Note : If you are not using a desktop then connect a laptop with a ethernet cable for the setup.

Turn on the modem first and wait till the lights are stable. Then turn on the router and computer.  If your connection is dynamic usually just a power cycle will get the internet connection back.

If still the computer is not connect to the internet then follow the next step.

Open a Browser and in the Address box type www.routerlogin.com or 192.168.1.1.

The Login window will prompt for the routers username and password. The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password”.

Click Setup wizard, Select yes and click Next.
It detects the connection as Dynamic IP Detected.  Click Next.

Do not change the Default values. After select apply it takes you to the Basic settings.

Click Router Status and Verify you have a valid IP address (not-blank / 0.0.0.0) on the Internet Port.

Your Wired connection is working. Click Here for see the wireless configuration.
